Driving Under the Influence MAT Grant Oppertunity

What is DUI MAT?

The DUI MAT Outreach Program is a recognition and intervention program for the identification and treatment of opioid and polysubstance use disorder to benefit DUI program participants.

Because your DUI Program is a DUI MAT provider.  You will receive Substance Use Disorder education and voluntary pre-screens. You can also elect to join the DUI MAT Program, if you decide it is right for you.  DUI MAT is a voluntary program and will not impact your DUI program or any legal proceedings.

What is MAT?

MAT is an evidence-based treatment for people with opioid use disorders (i.e. addiction to heroin, illicit fentanyl, or prescription  pain medications) and people with alcohol use disorders. MAT uses medications with counseling to treat the whole person. Addiction is a chronic disease, meaning that  it does not have a cure and people  will have to manage their symptoms, often with medications. In this way, addiction is like diabetes  or heart disease. MAT stabilizes  the brain, controlling cravings, and helping people along their road to  recovery.

The Future of DUI MAT The DUI MAT Project continues in State Opioid Response III. CADTP recruited 54 DUI Program Subcontractors to participate in the project from January 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024.  CADTP’s DUI MAT Project Team provides tools and resources to help DUI MAT Providers deliver DUI MAT services to their DUI Program clients.

The DUI MAT Integration/Outreach Project is a grant funded by DHCS and SAMSHA.
